March Guild Meeting

Monday, March 12
Doors open at 6:30 pm, meeting begins at 7:00 pm

Westside Baptist Church in the Family Life Building (behind the church)

10000 W. Newberry Rd. Gainesville
2.56 miles west of The Oaks Mall

March Program:
A presentation by Stephanie Metts, one of the owners of Suwannee Valley Quilt Shop, to give us a personal update on the current status of the shop, property, etc.

President's Message:
It warms my heart that Tree City Quilt Guild rallied and donated all those flannel hearts to be used for the Neonatal ward at Shands. Thank you for everyone who made 100's of hearts and to Jackie Reichardt for being so generous with the gift certificates from Ballyhoo. Please don't stop, we still need you to continue to bring in hearts every month.

We also need your Beautiful quilt to be delivered to the meeting for Valerie to take to Trenton's last quilt show on 3/17. Plan to work, sell raffle tickets and educate the public about the Tree City Quilt Guild.

We also need Officers for the upcoming year. Believe it or not, our membership year is June through May so we will need to have a slate of officers by next month. Think about how you can serve the guild....many hands make light work.

There is a lot going on this month. I hope to see you at a meeting, Trenton or the Applique Workshop.

March Food Drive
Our Bread of the Mighty Food Bank food drive will be this month. The blueberry pickers will be arriving in early March. They are very poor and may need to use the food bank. Help us feed the hungry. Checks are appreciated, too, because of the buying power of the food bank. Checks should be made out to Bread of the Mighty Food Bank. Vicki Bergath, our Bread of the Might Food Bank  representative, will have envelopes if you want to give money.

UFO Challenge
Bring a UFO that you plan to finish this year. If you bring it finished by the end of the year you will get a prize. We will present them at show and tell. It is up to
you if you want to tell the date when you started it.

Quilt in a Box Block Party:

Continues this month! Please bring your box and turn them into Anne so we can make sure everyone gets one.
